Westbound I-30 Traffic Switch Near Downtown Fort Worth To Occur Friday And Saturday (March 21 and 22)
March 18,2014
Update from Chisholm Trail Parkway
Last weekend, CTP construction crews successfully switched eastbound Interstate 30 traffic onto new pavement. Beginning Friday night, westbound I-30 traffic will be shifted to the old eastbound I-30 lanes. Two lanes of westbound I-30 between Summit Avenue and Forest Park Drive, just west of downtown Fort Worth, will be reduced to one lane from 9 p.m. Friday, March 21, through midnight Saturday, March 22. All westbound entrance and exit ramps in this area will remain open during this time.
Once the shift is complete, crews will begin to demolish non-needed structures and continue construction of CTP and westbound I-30.
Nearby, north- and southbound University Drive, from Vickery Boulevard to the new Chisholm Trail frontage road, just north of Rosedale Avenue, will be closed continuously from 9 p.m. Friday, March 21, through 5 a.m. Monday, March 24, to hang beams. Click here to view detour information.
Additional nightly closures will be needed between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m. to complete work on the bridges along University Drive through the end of April. Specific details will be announced in the near future.
All closures are subject to weather conditions and will be postponed, when needed.
