West Side Bank & Trust Renamed To Ciera Bank

First Graham Bancorp, Inc., which owns and operates West Side Bank & Trust in Downtown Fort Worth (1501 Summit Ave.), as well as First National Bank in Graham and First Security Bank in Flower Mound is merging the three banks into one (Ciera Bank) and converting it to a Texas Department of Banking charter. Owners say they made the decision based on two reasons: “First, we believe it will be better to be regulated by the Texas Department of Banking rather than the Washington, D.C. based Office of the Comptroller of the Currency. Most of our bank officers and directors are life-¬‐long Texans; our Graham bank has served Texans for 123 years. We embrace the entrepreneurial spirit, conservative values, and western heritage that make us truly Texan in our hearts and souls. Simply put: We Trust Texas! Second, the merger will enable us to achieve smarter business efficiencies. Things done in triplicate, such as board meetings, regulatory reports, and audits will now be consolidated, saving time and money. The merger should increase synergy, uniting our branches as one cohesive, effective team.”
