Weatherford St. Bridge Entrance Ramp to SB I-35W Opens December 4, 2013

WHERE: East of the Tarrant County Courthouse and west of Interstate 35W
FORT WORTH — The new Weatherford Street entrance ramp to southbound I-35W will open to motorists Wednesday, weather permitting. An additional two lanes from the Weatherford Street bridge to northbound State Highway 121 will also open. The entrance ramp to southbound I-35W had been closed as part of the Weatherford Street bridge reconstruction.

The Weatherford Street bridge project has rebuilt the bridge and approaches, constructed a new southbound entrance ramp to I-35W, built retaining walls and improved drainage and lighting.

The project was awarded to Austin Bridge & Road of Irving for $6.58 million. The bridge is aesthetically similar to the westbound Belknap Street bridge that was rebuilt in 2001.

TxDOT appreciates the patience of motorists and encourages attention to all warning signs within the construction work zone while crews work diligently to complete this project as quickly and as safely as possible. The estimated completion of this project is Spring 2014.
