There's great news for public transportation commuters and fans: Trinity Metro TEXRail, the commuter rail line between Fort Worth and Dallas Fort Worth International Airport, is going to add more trains and more frequent trips.

According to a release, beginning Sunday, July 28, TEXRail will increase the number of trips every day, with more frequent trips during the morning rush hour and again in the evening.

TEXRail is the 27-mile commuter rail line that runs from downtown Fort Worth to Dallas Fort Worth International Airport's Terminal B.

They'll increase the number of daily trips from 48 to 73, with trains running every 30 minutes during the key early morning hours until approximately 11 am, and then start back up in the late afternoon/evening.

Start times differ depending on which station you are departing from. For example, if you're headed to the airport from Fort Worth T&P Station, the 30-minute intervals begin at 4:43 am, then 5:13 am, 5:43 am, and so on.

Mercantile Center Station starts its 30-minute train action to the airport even earlier: at 3:31 am, then 4:01 am, 4:31 am, and so on.

All of your locations and times can be found on ridetrinitymetro.org/texrail/schedules/.

Trinity Metro president and CEO Bob Baulsir says in a statement that they'd always intended to increase frequency after six months of service to provide more options for commuters, travelers and other passengers.

"Riders love our service, and we often hear that they are eager for more trains to run," Baulsir says.

More trains means that they've adjusted the schedule, and that includes new later hours.

Trains from downtown Fort Worth and Fort Worth Stockyards will enjoy later service eastbound to DFW Airport, with the last train leaving Fort Worth Central Station at 12:47 am (it currently leaves at 11:30 pm), and leaving North Side Station at 12:55 am (it currently leaves at 11:38 pm).

Going in the other direction west is just a little earlier: TEXRail's first departure from DFW Airport to Fort Worth will be at 4:40 am (it's currently 4:55 am).

Of course, passengers should consult the online schedule prior to departure.

Trinity Metro is a regional transportation system that provides public transportation to meet the mobility needs in Tarrant County. The agency offers connections throughout the North Central Texas region via buses, vanpools, and the Trinity Railway Express (TRE), which is jointly owned and operated with Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART).

But Trinity Metro is the sole owner and operator of TEXRail. Boom.
