This weekend in Fort Worth will see a variety of fun activities from a broad range of topics. Two concerts will take place — one the start of a series and the other a worthy fundraiser. Sundance Square presents Party in the Plaza
Once a month for the next four months, Sundance Square Plaza will host a live music series, Party in the Plaza. Each band, starting with Western Youth on Thursday, will play for 90 minutes from the plaza stage in the heart of Sundance Square. Lawn chairs and blankets are welcome during the concert. Beverages will be available for purchase during the performances, and restaurants will be open throughout the evening.
Broadway at the Bass: Fiddler on the Roof
Rich with musical hits you know and love, including “Tradition,” “Sunrise, Sunset," “If I Were A Rich Man," “Matchmaker, Matchmaker,” and “To Life (L’Chaim!),” Fiddler on the Roof is the heartwarming story of fathers and daughters, husbands and wives, and life, love, and laughter. The classic musical will play at Bass Performance Hall through Sunday.

Magnolia at the Modern: David Crosby: Remember My Name
In Remember My Name, audiences can meet David Crosby now in a portrait of a man with everything but an easy retirement on his mind. With unflinching honesty, self-examination, regret, fear, exuberance, and an unshakable belief in family and the transformative nature of music, Crosby shares his often challenging journey. The documentary will screen seven times through Sunday at the Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth.

National Theatre Live presents Small Island
Andrea Levy’s Orange Prize-winning novel Small Island comes to life in an epic new theater adaptation. The play follows three intricately connected stories. Hortense yearns for a new life away from rural Jamaica, Gilbert dreams of becoming a lawyer, and Queenie longs to escape her Lincolnshire roots. Hope and humanity meet stubborn reality as the play traces the tangled history of Jamaica and the UK. The screening of the live play will be at the Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth.

Panther Island Pavilion presents Sunday Funday
Sunday Funday at Panther Island Pavilion is a day of relaxation and fun in the sun. Tubes and pedal boats are available to rent along with kayaks, stand-up paddle boards, and canoes from Backwoods Paddlesports. Visitors can enjoy cold beer, music, friends, food trucks, and floating on the Trinity River. This is the penultimate event of the summer, with the final event happening on September 1.
15th Annual Cook Children's Pickin' for Preemies
The annual Cook Children's Pickin' for Preemies, which raises money for Cook Children’s Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, will take place at Billy Bob's Texas. The event will feature performances by William Clark Green, Cleto Cordero, Kaitlin Butts, Sonny & Jolie Burgess, Randy Brown, Cody Canada, Kylie Rae Harris, Austin Allsup, Adam Hood, Steve Helms, Jack Barksdale, Jason Eady, Courtney Patton, and special mystery guests.
Lone Star Film Festival presents Sunday Cinema Series: The Long, Hot Summer
Everyone is feeling the effects of the heat in August, so it's only appropriate that the latest in Lone Star Film Festival's Sunday Cinema Series is 1958's The Long, Hot Summer. The classic film stars Paul Newman as con man Ben Quick, his eventual wife Joanne Woodward, and Orson Welles. The film will screen at Four Day Weekend Theater.
