The city's biggest food festival returns this week, and it will provide for a four-day feeding frenzy. One of the featured chefs will start the party one day early with a tequila pairing dinner downtown. Also on the list is a whiskey tasting in Colleyville, a beer launch at Billy Bob’s Texas, a brewery birthday party, and the return of a beloved brunch.
Wednesday, March 30
Latin American Experience Dinner at Toro Toro
Richard Sandoval, the founding chef of Pan-Latin steakhouse Toro Toro, will visit the Fort Worth location (inside the Worthington Renaissance hotel) for a collab dinner with new executive chef Jonathan Esparza. The three-course dinner will include Clase Azul tequila pairings along with a cocktail reception. Tickets are $220 per person (including tax and gratuity) and a portion of the sales will benefit the humanitarian efforts of World Central Kitchen. The event begins at 6:30 pm. Sandoval and Esparza will also be participating at the Fort Worth Food + Wine Festival Tacos + Tequila event on Thursday.

Fort Worth Food + Wine Festival
After a two-year hiatus, the Fort Worth Food + Wine Festival is back for its seventh edition. The four-day feeding frenzy runs Thursday, March 31-Sunday, April 3. Events include From Houston to Ho Nai (Thursday), Tacos + Tequila (Thursday), The Main Event (Friday), Nite Bites (Friday), Culinary Corral (Saturday), Burgers, Brews + Blues (Saturday), and Ring of Fire: A Next-Level Cookout (Sunday). Garrison Brothers Whiskey Tasting at Next Bistro
The Colleyville dining destination will feature Texas-based Garrison Brothers whiskey during this paired tasting. Patrons will get an old fashioned and five straight pours, along with chef Ying’s complementary appetizers. Reservations are $99 per person, plus tax and gratuity, and the event begins at 6 pm.
Broken Skull Bash at Billy Bob’s Texas
Stone Cold Steve Austin himself will be on hand for the launch of his new beer, Broken Skull American Lager, created in collaboration with El Segundo Brewing. The pro wrestler will introduce the evening’s entertainment, Reckless Kelly. VIP tickets ($250) include a meet-a-greet. Reserved seating tickets are $35 and general admission is $25. The “throw down” will begin at 8:30 pm.

Fred’s Texas Café Brunch
While the original Currie Street location of the iconic burger joint shuttered for good on New Year’s Eve, Fred’s North is still open and now serving Fred’s long-beloved weekend brunch. Menu items include the popular quail and eggs, chicken fried steak and eggs, biscuits and gravy, and mimosas. Brunch is served Saturday and Sunday from 10 am-2 pm. Look for Fred’s new Camp Bowie West location to open late next month.
Martin House 9-Year Anniversary Party
The popular Fort Worth brewery will celebrate its ninth birthday with a big party, and everyone is invited (even the kids). There’ll be a petting zoo, food trucks, live music, and guest breweries including Turning Point Beer and Celestial Beerworks on-site to hand out samples. Wristbands sold at the door will be $20, which covers a souvenir pint glass and four pours of beer. The party will run from 12-5 pm. Dogs welcome.
