Father’s Day is Sunday, and some restaurants and bars are celebrating all week with special events geared toward Dad. Bourbon, beer, and top-shelf tequila are all on the menu, along with plenty of beef dishes. (Smoked prime rib and bourbon filet meatballs, to name a few.) Start with dessert first — one local brewery is launching whiskey-soaked carrot cake beer on Tuesday, and there’ll be actual cake for pairing. End with a brunch buffet of gargantuan proportions on Sunday.

Whiskey-Soaked Carrot Cake Launch at Martin House Brewing Company
Two worlds collide for this sweet and boozy beer launch. The Riverside brewery has teamed up with the posh Hurley House bakery and kitchen to transform their beloved whiskey-soaked carrot cake into a beer. The concoction combines Imperial Cream Ale with spices, nuts, whiskey-soaked oak spirals, vanilla, and a touch of carrot. Try the beer in the brewery’s taproom starting at 4 pm. Hurley House will be on site to give complimentary cake to the first 100 customers. The taproom closes at 10 pm.

Heritage Bourbon Dinner at Del Frisco’s Grille
Maker’s 46, Knob Creek, Bulleit, and Angel’s Envy are the bourbons that will be featured during this four-course, father-friendly dinner. Menu highlights include bourbon filet meatballs, pimento cheese fritters, crispy honey-apricot duck, and barbecue short ribs. The meal is $95 per person, plus tax and gratuity, and begins at 6:30 pm at both the Sundance Square and Southlake locations.

Wild Acre Brewing Co. Beer Dinner at Pinstripes
Combine bowling, bocce, and beer at this four-course dinner paired with beers from the downtown Fort Worth brewery. Menu highlights include ribeye dumplings with a pilsner glaze, osso bucco with cheddar and jalapeño polenta cakes, and turtle macafame — Italy’s version of bread pudding — with bock gelato. A different beer comes with each course. The dinner is $60 per person and begins at 7 pm.

Father’s Day at Cowtown Brewing Company
The barbecue smoked and served at this downtown brewery regularly receives rave reviews, and there’ll be a special just for dads on Father’s Day. Visit starting at 11 am for smoked prime rib, baked potato, and one of Cowtown’s brews for $20. The dad-only deal will be available until 8 pm or sell-out.

Man vs. Brunch at the Omni Fort Worth Hotel
Dad will take on a smorgasbord at the downtown hotel, including barbecue baby back ribs; coffee-smoked beef brisket; venison chili; skillet mac and cheese with chorizo and shrimp or smoked chicken; and a biscuit bar with pepper gravy, Texas honey, and sorghum syrup. There’ll also be breakfast dishes; salads; sides and entrees; cheese and charcuterie; desserts; and a doughnut wall. Adults are $55 per person, and children 6 to 12 are $30. Seating is available from 11 am to 3 pm, and reservations are required.

Top Shelf Tequila Tasting Flights and Pairing Menu at Mi Dia From Scratch
The Grapevine Mexican restaurant, which offers a fusion of Tex-Mex, Santa Fe, and Mexico City flavors, will offer guests a flight of three top-shelf tequilas for $30 in honor of Father’s Day. Or take advantage of a special Father’s Day-only tequila pairing menu, which includes Hatch tacos with a Tahona Sour cocktail, pan-seared Chilean sea bass with a black barrel margarita, and pollo agave with the El Jefe anejo tequila concoction. The special menu will be offered 11 am to 10 pm.
