Taste and drink in unique ways this week — from the winding paths of the Fort Worth Zoo to brewery stops along a six-mile bike ride. There are two notable wine dinners (one on a lovely downtown patio), and a prime steak and barbecue pop-up by week’s end. Craft beer lovers should also take note — there’s a three-day festival happening just for you.

Thursday, May 16

Argentina Wine Dinner at Del Frisco’s Grille
One white and three reds will be paired with a four-course meal at the Sundance Square steakhouse and grill. Menu highlights from the Argentinean-themed menu include stuffed calamari, lollipop lamb chops, and dry-aged strip steak. Reservations are $95 per person plus tax and gratuity, and the dinner begins at 6:30 pm.

Friday, May 17

35th Annual Main Street Fest: A Craft Brew Experience
This three-day Grapevine festival is to beer what September’s Grapefest is to wine. There’ll be hundreds of craft brews to try from all over the world, as well as straight from Texas. Also on tap: live music, carnival rides, and festival food. Note that festival admission — free on Friday until 5 pm and then $7 for adults thereafter — is separate from the craft brew tasting cards, which are $15 when purchased in advance or $18 during the festival. The cards allow for eight three-ounce pours and include a souvenir glass. Tickets for children age six to 12 are $5. The festival runs Friday through Sunday.

Montagu Wine Dinner at Grace
Texas Christian University alum and winemaker Weston Eidson founded his Napa Valley wine operation, Montagu Wines, in 2012 after traveling the world to learn from the best in the business. He’ll be on hand to talk through pairings with chef Blaine Staniford’s five-course dinner, which ranges from grilled Hawaiian blue prawns and pappardelle pasta with porcini mushrooms to house-made kielbasa and strawberry and mascarpone trifle. Reservations are $155 per person, plus tax and gratuity, and a reception with bubbly starts at 6:30 pm.

Beastro
Go wild at this annual tasting event that takes guests through the lush and exotic paths of the Fort Worth Zoo. More than two dozen restaurants will be stationed throughout the park (wear comfortable shoes) including Bartaco, Meso Mayo, Winslow’s Wine Café, Bonnell’s and more. The event also features open bars, select exhibits open (just until dusk), and live music all night. Tickets are $110 (Zoo members get $10 off), and the event runs from 8 pm until midnight.

Saturday, May 18

6-Pack Trail
There are six stops on this six-mile bike ride, which will take participants on a tour of what’s being called the “Fort Worth Brewery District.” Check in at Brewed before embarking on a road ride to Fort Brewery & Pizza, Rahr & Sons Brewing Company, Martin House Brewing Company, Wild Acre Brewing Company, HopFusion Ale Works, and the Collective Brewing Project. Riders get a beer at each, then finish up back at Brewed for a meal. Plan for an all-day affair as check-in begins at 11 am, and the ride ends around 4:30 pm, when dinner begins. Tickets are $55 per person.

Meat Drop at The Collective Brewing Project
Make way for the meat sweats at this Saturday afternoon steak and barbecue pop-up at the South Fort Worth brewery. Fort Butcher chef Andrew Dilda will do the cooking. Choose from the VIP $125 32-ounce tomahawk steak paired with four brews; the $75 12-ounce ribeye or 6-ounce filet mignon served with two brews; or the $20 brisket plate with one brew. All plates come with sides. The meaty meals will be available from 2-6 pm.
