The T to make changes to improve service on ten bus routes on Feb. 1
*Service changes include re-route around site of new Trinity River Bridge construction
FORT WORTH (January 27, 2015) – The Fort Worth Transportation Authority (The T) will make adjustments to 10 bus routes effective Sunday, February 1 to improve efficiency and access for customers.
The route and schedule changes are currently posted on buses and on The T’s website at www.the-t.com, and the new printed route schedules for the affected routes are now available.
The most significant change will be to shift a portion of Route 10-Bailey to West 7th Street to bypass a portion of White Settlement Road that will be closed for construction of a new Trinity River bridge near downtown.
Also, Route 26 – Ridgmar Mall/Normandale will improve bus connections with other routes by shifting its schedule to five minutes earlier.
Minor changes also will be made on the following bus routes:
Rt. 1- Hemphill;
Rt. 1b – North Main;
Rt. 6 – 8th Ave/ McCart/Hulen Mall;
Rt. 7 – University;
Rt. 32 – Bryant Irvin;
Rt. 61 – Normandale Express;
Rt. 72 – Hemphill/Sycamore School Road;
Molly the Trolley – Discontinue the “The Hop” extension after 6 p.m.
Improvements to Printed Timetables
For rider convenience, all routes that operate on Sunday will have their Sunday times printed on their individual schedules. Each will list the Weekday, Saturday & Sunday schedule. The separate "Sunday Only" printed schedule will be eliminated.
“The T evaluates routes three times a year and makes changes in response to development, population shifts and feedback from customers in order to maintain efficient operation and improve ridership experience,” said Curvie Hawkins, AVP of Planning for The T.
