Signing of Restaurant Well Positions Remainder of Former Barnes & Noble Space for Soft Goods Retail
FORT WORTH, Texas (May 30, 2014) – Sundance Square has inked a deal with The Cheesecake Factory® to bring the restaurant concept to the upscale 35-block multi-use development in downtown Fort Worth. The restaurant will occupy more than 8,700 square feet at 215 East 4th Street in a portion of the former Barnes & Noble space.
“The Cheesecake Factory is a well-known brand with a loyal fan base that local residents and visitors alike will enjoy,” said Johnny Campbell, President and CEO of Sundance Square. “This space is truly unique and very high profile. The restaurant entrance will be at the corner of 4th and Commerce with patio seating along 4th Street across from the Bass Performance Hall.”
In addition to the approximately 8,700 square foot dining room, the restaurant will boast 900 square feet of patio space. Details regarding the start of construction for The Cheesecake Factory are pending.
“The Cheesecake Factory is one of the highest volume restaurant concepts in the United States,” said Campbell. “This restaurant will bring a lot of foot traffic to that corner of our development. We have 18,000 square feet of prime space at 3rd and Commerce Streets for soft goods retail. We have been talking to several national retailers about the space and we anticipate this announcement will escalate those conversations.”
When The Cheesecake Factory opens, the restaurant will be in good company with Radio Shack, Silver Leaf Cigar Lounge, and Bird Café across the street. Sundance Square announced last month national women’s retailer White House Black Market will open a 3,800-square- foot store this summer on the first floor of The Westbrook, a six-story building which opened last year.
Bill Booker, director of leasing with Sundance Square, negotiated the lease for the development with Blatteis & Schnur handling duties for The Cheesecake Factory.
