‘The Bachelor’ to hold Fort Worth casting call

May 15,2015

Reposted from Star-Telegram

The Bachelor, the ABC reality series, has a history with DFW. Two Bachelors — Arlington native Sean Lowe and Dallas native Jake Pavelka — were from North Texas, and both were also on The Bachelorette and, in Pavelka’s case, Bachelor Pad. And former Dallas Cowboys Cheerleader Melissa Rycroft (now Melissa Rycroft Strickland) underwent the most painful Bachelor rejection ever, as Jason Mesnick picked her and then, on The Bachelor: After the Final Rose, changed his mind and chose another contestant to be his bride.

That’s not to mention the scads of contestants from North Texas who have been on the show in a quest for getting that final rose from the Bachelor or Bachelorette du jour. And here’s your chance to become one of those contestants is coming to Fort Worth.

The show will hold a casting call from 4 to 8 p.m. June 27 at the Embassy Suites Fort Worth, 600 Commerce St. downtown. The casting call is for both women and men. Or to put it the way the announcement puts it: “Those who feel they possess the enthusiasm, playfulness, sparkle and passion to become America's next leading lady or leading man.”

If you want to be on the show and can’t be at the June 27 casting call, you can apply online. There are also several other casting calls, the nearest ones being June 25 in Austin and July 16 in Norman, Okla.; more on those here. If you’ve never been to a casting call, there are rules -- lots of them — but the key ones are that you must be 21 or older, a U.S. citizen, have some form of I.D., and it’s always a good idea to bring a head shot. Rules can be found under “eligibility” if you click the “apply online” link in this paragraph.
