Tarrant County commissioners this week extended their mask requirement through May 25, 2021, to help contain and mitigate the spread of COVID-19.
Businesses are required to adopt a Health and Safety Policy that requires employees and patrons to wear face coverings. Businesses that don’t comply could face a fine of up to $1,000.
The City of Fort Worth has a similar mask requirement in place through March 2, 2021, with a fine of up to $500 for a violation. City Council will consider extending the mask requirement at their meeting on March 2, 2021.
Neither order includes churches, which are exempt under a previous order by Gov. Greg Abbott.
Besides wearing face coverings, residents are asked to maintain social distancing of at least six feet from others when they’re outside of their own homes.
