The new family-friendly tubing event will take place every Sunday afternoon at Panther Island Pavilion
FORT WORTH, TX— Sunday Funday, a laid back and family-friendly summer series, will kick off next Sunday, June 8. Sunday Funday will take place on the banks of, and in, the Trinity River at Panther Island Pavilion. It will feature tube rentals for $5, food, music, kayaks, canoes, pedal boats and stand up paddle board rentals.
Beer from Fort Worth’s newest craft brewery, Panther Island Brewing, will also be available on site. They have even brewed up a special batch inspired by Sunday Funday called Real Good. Several of their other beers will also be for sale at the event.
In addition, a stand up paddle board class from The Yoga Project – Fort Worth Riverside studio will be available each day at 1:00pm. The Funkytown Flyers will also be on site with an 18-hole disc golf course that is open to the public.
“Since the start of Rockin’ the River we have had a ton of requests to hold a tubing event on the weekends,” said Trinity River Vision Authority Executive Director, JD Granger. “We’re giving the public exactly what they’ve asked for and we couldn’t be more excited to bring another weekly event to Panther Island Pavilion,” he said.
Patrons are encouraged to bring blankets, chairs, games or anything else that would be fun in the sun. No outside coolers, food or drinks will be allowed on site. The gates open at 1:00 pm and the event will last until 6:00 p.m. Sunday Funday will take place every Sunday this summer until August 10.
