Lamar Street Two-Way Conversion Project

On January 15, 2020 at 5:30pm, the City of Fort Worth will host a public meeting at the Central Library for the Lamar Street Two-Way Conversion Project.

In March 2020, the new Hemphill Lamar tunnel is anticipated to open, connecting Downtown and the Near Southside. Currently, Lamar St. directs traffic one-way from 5th St. to Texas St. Converting this to a two-way street would allow for better connectivity into the core of Downtown. The project is anticipated to execute in two phases. Phase 1 would be signal and restriping. Phase 2 would include resurfacing and ADA sidewalk ramps.
