PID #1 Adds Downtown Pet Stations

January 17,2013

Downtown Fort Worth, Inc. and the Fort Worth Public Improvement District #1 will soon implement a new pet waste stations program at select downtown locations. The stations will provide disposable bags which pet owners can use like a glove to pick up the pet waste, turn the bag inside out and dispose of it in a trash can. Signage on the stands will increase public awareness and encourage proper waste disposal. Pet waste management results in cleaner downtown green spaces for everyone's use. The program will start with two locations; Burnett Park and General Worth Square. Ongoing maintenance will be provided by PID #1. DFWI recently held a program naming contest which received more than 250 submissions. The program name and branding are to be announced in February.
