Pedestrian-friendly in the new Sundance Plaza

January 7,2013

The Star-Telegram reports that updated plans for the Sundance Square Plaza call for a pedestrian-only experience on the section of Main Street located between 3rd and 4th streets. The City of Fort Worth has recommended that the land be vacated to make way for a permanent pedestrian environment through the center of the new plaza. Sundance Square will remove curbs and bring the entire section of land on both blocks to the same grade. Removable bollards will line either side of the plaza and the closure calls for traffic to be diverted north on Commerce Street and south on Houston Street.  More information about this project is available at http://www.sundancesquare.com/info/construction/.
