Panther Island Bridge Construction Update

April 23,2014

Trinity River Bridges Pic

On April 9th, DFWI in partnership with The Fort Worth Chamber, the Fort Worth Hispanic Chamber of Commerce and the Fort Worth Metropolitan Black Chamber of Commerce held a meeting to brief their constituencies on the Panther Island bridge construction.

Panther Island bridge construction, road closures and detours will change commute and transportation patterns along White Settlement, Henderson and North Main. This project is a collaborative partnership between the Trinity River Vision Authority, TxDOT and the City of Fort Worth.

The project will result in three signature bridges positioned over the future Trinity River bypass Channel that will serve as gateways to Panther Island. Construction for the three signature bridges will begin in late summer 2014 and last for a few years. Bypass road on Henderson and Main and detours at White Settlement will be used during the construction period.
