We are excited to announce a new festival with a twist is coming to Fort Worth! PantherFest will take place on June 6, 2015 as a celebration of Fort Worth’s birthday. The festival, produced by TRVA with support from the City of Fort Worth and the Tarrant Regional Water District, will honor some of our favorite things in Fort Worth by featuring beer from Rahr, Martin House and Panther Island Brewing; live music from Chris Watson and local bands and delicious food from Fort Worth-based restaurants such as Reata, Fred’s Texas Café and more.

This won’t be your average festival though! To kick off summer in style the celebration will also feature a 2,000 foot water slide down North Main Street from Slide the City. Think traveling 2,000 feet down a slip-n-slide might hurt? Don’t worry, they have it padded and claim the slide has, “more cushion than your grandpa’s orthopedic sneakers.” Make sure to bring your floaties, and water guns (non-realistic of course), to squirt, spray, splash and get all attending soaked.

“We in Fort Worth know how to throw a party, and we’re proud to partner with our friends at the Trinity River Vision Authority to commemorate Fort Worth’s birthday,” said Mayor Betsy Price. “I can’t think of a better way to celebrate than by turning our famous Main Street Bridge into a giant water slide. This should be a lot of fun,” she said.

“We are so happy to see that Fort Worth residents have made a shift and are now embracing and enjoying being outdoors,” said Trinity River Vision Authority Executive Director, J.D. Granger. “What better way to kick-off a summer of outdoor fun than with a massive waterslide the whole city can enjoy,” he said.

PantherFest featuring Slide the City will be an all day festival. Admission to the festival will be free but those wishing to ride the waterslide must purchase tickets from Slide the City. Tickets will go on sale February 20th. We recommend purchasing Slide the City tickets in advance as the slide is expected to sell out. Slide the City is managed by the same group who produces Color Me Rad.
