Main Street Arts Festival in Fort Worth: What to know before you go

The popular Main Street Arts Festival is back in Fort Worth for four days this week with works from hundreds of artists, food, music and more.

This is the event's 38th year, running April 10-13.

Before you go, here's what you need to know about street closures, how to get to the festival and things to do while you're at the event.

When is the festival open?

The Main Street Arts Festival is open from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. April 10, 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. April 11 and 12, and from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. April 13. Entrance to the event is free. 

Which streets are closed for the Main Street Arts Festival?

The following streets are closed through 6 a.m. April 14:

  • Main Street from Weatherford to 3rd Street
  • Main Street from 4th Street to 9th Street
  • 8th Street from Houston Street to Commerce Street – This street will be closed at Main Street, between Main and Houston Streets
  • 9th Street from Houston to Commerce
  • Houston Street northbound lane from 11th Street to 9th Street closed to all but local traffic due to closure of 9th Street from Houston to Commerce
  • Commerce Street, bike/curb lanes on east and west side and west side sidewalk areas (pedestrian access open) just south of 9th Street
  • Throckmorton Street, west side, from 7th Street to 6th Street (through 6 a.m. Tuesday, April 15)

How to get to the festival and where to park

Trinity Metro offers several bus routes to Fort Worth Central Station two blocks from the event. Trinity Metro TEXRail and Trinity Railway Express take passengers just two blocks from the festival at Fort Worth Central Station at Jones and 9th Streets. There are also 14 bike-sharing stations within walking distance of the festival, according to the festival website. For information about parking available in Downtown Fort Worth, click here

Who's performing at the Main Street Arts Festival?

There will be performances on two stages throughout the event from acts including Jazz Funk Soul, Jackie Venson, Payton Howie, AHYONZ featuring Kenya C., Def Leggend, The Inspiration Band! and Poo Live Crew, our content partners at the Fort Worth Star-Telegram report
