Downtown Fort Worth has two art festivals on the same weekend, with hundreds of artists from near and far displaying their work and musicians performing on multiple stages.
The Main Street Fort Worth Arts Festival and the Fort Worth Art Fair are happening this weekend, April 10-13, 2025.
Both events feature artists using all types of media as well as live music and food. The festivals are next to each other, along the Main Street corridor through downtown.
But the Main Street Arts Festival features jury-selected artists from across the country and is in its 38th year. The Fort Worth Art Fair was started three years ago by Sundance Square and features predominantly Fort Worth artists in the plaza.
Here’s what to know about both of the free events.
Main Street Arts Festival
The festival spans 18 square blocks of downtown Fort Worth with artists displaying and selling their paintings, prints, sculptures, pottery, jewelry, metalwork, photography, leatherwork and other creations.
There will be 219 artists, as well as 50 live musicians on two stages and food courts.
Music: The two stages are at Main and 9th streets near the convention center, and Commerce and 7th streets. The headlining acts include Jazz Funk Soul, Jackie Venson, Payton Howie, AHYONZ featuring Kenya C., Def Leggend, The Inspiration Band! and Poo Live Crew.
Food: Five food courts will offer a variety of dishes, including Texas barbecue, Tex-Mex, gourmet burgers and international cuisine. You can also buy beers, frozen margaritas, mojitos or wine.
Family activities: Near the historic courthouse, a TCC Makers Zone has hands-on experiences such as nature journaling and leaf rubbing through the Fort Worth Museum of Science and History’s “A Jane Goodall Experience,” as well as a drone course presented by Fort Worth ISD. Pottery making, caricature illustrations, and other creative installations will also be available.
Studio 80 pirate ship: The nightclub Studio 80 will have a 40-foot, LED-lit pirate ship parked at 1st and Main streets. Friday and Saturday from 8-10 p.m., a deejay will play ‘80s music to accompany a laser show.
Fort Worth beauty art contest: High school seniors will show artistic interpretations of “Fort Worth Beauty,” with the top 50 entries displayed on Saturday and Sunday in the TCC Makers Zone.
No pets are allowed in the festival area. Admission is free for all days, Thursday through Sunday.
Here are the hours:
Thursday: 10 a.m.-10 p.m.
Friday: 10 a.m.-11 p.m.
Saturday: 10 a.m.-11 p.m.
Sunday: 10 a.m.-8 p.m.
Fort Worth Art Fair
The fourth-annual Fort Worth Art Fair will have about 95% of artists from Fort Worth, with the others still local to North Texas. It will take place in Sundance Square Plaza at 420 Main St.
The fair will be Thursday to Sunday with artist exhibitors from 10 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. daily, including students from TCU’s College of Fine Arts. Other galleries participating include Artspace One Eleven, Art Tooth, Caravan of Dreams Gallery, 400h Houston St. Gallery & Studio and Zona 7 Gallery.
The music entertainment schedule is 11 a.m. to about midnight in the plaza. Friday’s program is country and western performers. Saturday’s lineup is jazz, rhythm and blues, and Sunday will feature Latino music.
Sundance Square will have a bar set up, too. On Friday and Saturday, Fort Worth’s Blackland Distillery will be hosting a tasting experience with its award-winning craft spirits.
Downtown street closures for art festivals
The two festivals will shut down parts of downtown Fort Worth.
Due to set up, the weekend-long event and tear down, avoid these streets beginning April 7 until April 14:
Main Street from Weatherford to 9th Street.
Sections of 1st through 9th streets.
Portions of Houston and Commerce streets.
Here’s a full list of street closures by day and time.
