Downtown Fort Worth’s dining scene is about to get spicier with the opening of a new restaurant featuring Latin-inspired coastal cuisine.
La Perla Negra bar and restaurant, located in the Flatiron District at 910 Houston St. in the space formerly occupied by Zambrano’s Wine Cellar & Bistro, is slated to open March 26.
The bar and restaurant is the shared vision of three veteran Fort Worth restaurateurs: Ramiro Ramirez of Salsa Limon, Andrew De La Torre formerly of Embargo, and Imran Khan of The Lunch Box and Black Rooster Bakery.
The three amigos have created a place that uses fresh, responsibly-sourced ingredients, and where everything from the cuisine to the artwork is handmade.
Chef Ryan Pandolfi offers a selection of seafood entrees, salad bowls, ceviches, artisan sandwiches made with bread from Black Rooster Bakery, vegetarian options, and signature dishes such as shrimp queso fundido and churrasco steak with chimichurri. Pandolfi was trained to make ceviche at CIA in San Antonio and has worked at The Omni Hotel and as a private corporate chef. As chef of the Gorgonzilla food truck, he was awarded the best grilled cheese sandwich in Dallas-Fort Worth by CBS-11.
La Perla Negra’s bar offers a selection of international and local craft brews, and a boutique wine list by Chester Cox of Kent & Co. Wines.
The 40-seat eatery, which seats an additional 15 to 20 patrons on the patio, will be open 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. seven days a week, while the bar will be open from 11 a.m. to midnight seven days a week, with happy hour specials every weekday.
