Hunter Plaza Redevelopment
September 13,2011
The Fort Worth Housing Authority has selected a firm to redevelop the now-vacant Hunter Plaza. Until it was closed because of a bedbug infestation, Hunter Plaza provided housing for low income people, with an emphasis on services for the elderly and those with handicaps.
After the building’s closure, the Housing Authority took a deliberate approach to selecting a highly qualified developer and accepted proposals from a number of experienced firms. Their selection of Carlton Development (experienced in downtown Fort Worth) signals the first step in the renovation and reuse of this building.
