Fort Worth's New Minor League Soccer Club Unveils Team Name

Fort Worth's brand new minor league soccer club has unveil its new team name - the Fort Worth Vaqueros FC. The name was chosen by fans during a special Stockyards cattle drive on Thursday, February 13, 2014.
The team's identity was announced in a special ceremony in the historic Stockyards at the Fort Worth Livestock Exchange Building and was followed by the famous cattle drive down Main Street.
Over 1,000 Fort Worth soccer fans voted in person or online and produced three favorite names: Fort Worth United FC, Fort Worth Vaqueros FC and Panther City FC.
Fort Worth's new club is scheduled to begin its inaugural season on May 9 at historic LaGrave Field against the Tulsa Athletics, the defending South Central Conference champions. Kickoff weekend offers an action-packed affair with a second match a mere two days later as North Dallas' Liverpool Warriors head to LaGrave for a Sunday game.
"Opening weekend will be a real treat for our fans," coach Mark Snell said. "Our first match ever will be against the conference champion Tulsa Athletics. We hope our style of technical yet fast paced soccer will match up against their experience. We will have no time to rest as two days later we face what will be a natural cross-town rival in the Liverpool Warriors."

"The Fort Worth Soccer Group is thrilled to be able to add a new opportunity for the young athletes to showcase and refine their natural gifts in front of this exceptional community. The journey for both the players and the community begins Friday May 9 at LaGrave Field."
The following schedule does not include international friendly matches or exhibition matches against non-league domestic clubs that will be announced in the future. Official game times will be announced at a later date.

Season Seat plans are on sale now. General Admission Season seats start at only $50 for youth aged six through eighteen and $80 for adults for the full season seat plan.
