Downtown-to-DFW Likely To Be First Phase Of TEX Rail Project

The T’s board is scheduled to designate the first phase of the TEX Rail commuter rail project at its Aug. 12 meeting. If approved, this action would enable the TEX Rail project to arrive at DFW Airport as soon as possible while maintaining The T’s ability to get $380 million infederal New Starts funding.

“It has become apparent that a phasing of the project will permit The T to begin this initial segment as soon as possible,” said T Board Chair Scott Mahaffey.
