Downtown Fort Worth, Inc. Names New Research Director

FORT WORTH, September 27, 2013 – Downtown Fort Worth, Inc. has named a new Research Director to join its team. Arrie Mitchell, a professional planner, will begin his new position on October 1, 2013.Mitchell comes to DFWI from his current position as Long Range Planner with The City of McKinney, where he worked on development cases within McKinney’s Town Center redevelopment zone, tracked and reported on the city’s economic and demographic trends, collected, processed and analyzed development data and demographics.
“We are excited to welcome Arrie aboard. He brings a unique understanding of the need to bridge the gap between what the data shows and the challenges and opportunities it represents.” said DFWI President Andy Taft.
In addition to his experience with the City of McKinney, Mitchell interned at Downtown OKC, Inc. where he worked with developers and business leaders in Downtown Oklahoma City to foster and grow the economic vitality of the downtown core. Mitchell obtained an M.S. in Regional and City Planning from the University of Oklahoma, and a B.A. in Public Administration with a minor in Economics from the University of Central Oklahoma.
