DFWI’s Sold-Out December Luncheon Reveals Plan 2023; Chris Leinberger Speaks

Downtown Fort Worth, Inc’s last quarterly luncheon of 2011, held on December 1, was completely sold out the Fort Worth club ballroom. 2011 has been a great year for downtown Fort Worth, and 2012 will set the community’s downtown vision for the decade ahead. Downtown Fort Worth Inc., the City and The T announced their partnership in launching Plan 2023, the Strategic Action Plan for Downtown Fort Worth for the next 10 years.
Keynote speaker Chris Leinberger, Senior Fellow at the Brookings Institution and one of the nation's leading urban thinkers, discussed downtown best practices and emerging trends to watch as we launch this exciting next chapter in downtown's growth and development.
With insight to building vibrant, multifaceted districts, Chris spoke on the advantages of walkable urban areas and their growing role as American demographic shifts position downtowns for future growth.
Johnny Campbell, President and CEO of Sundance Square, also shared details about the much-anticipated Central Plaza project planned for construction next year.
