DFWI Quarterly Meeting Breakfast and Tour of the MorningStar Capital Offices

212 DFWI members and their guests gathered in the historic and cavernous Star-Telegram press room to hear Luther Adkins speak at our final 2012 Quarterly Meeting. Adkins held the attendees spellbound with tales of his career and Amon G. Carter, the paper's founder and legendary publisher.  Also at the meeting, Congresswoman Kay Granger presented framed remarks of appreciation entered into the Congressional Record to Shirlee and Taylor Gandy for their JFK Tribute leadership. After breakfast, our guests were given a tour of the MorningStar's beautiful executive offices, which were at the time still under construction. Mr. Adkins personally showed Amon Carter's "secret room," perfectly hidden behind wall woodwork.  Special thanks to Joy Webster and her MorningStar team for rolling out the red carpet for this event.
