Deco, the much anticipated mixed-use high rise in downtown Fort Worth, is open for business following a grand opening celebration on Wednesday.

Developed by nationally renowned real estate firm Southern Land Company, the 27-story, 567,000-square-foot building at 969 Commerce St. features 302 luxury apartments along with amenities that include a rooftop swimming pool, a state-of-the-art fitness center and a secured, eight-level parking garage equipped with electric vehicle parking stations.

Available living spaces include apartments with 1-3 bedrooms ranging in size from 684 square feet to 1,582 square feet and rental rates starting at just over $2,000 per month plus six penthouses starting at just over $6,000 per month and ranging in size from 1,157 square feet to 2,793 square feet. Deco also plans to offer ground-floor dining with the expected opening early next year of Texas’ first Broadway 10 Bar & Chophouse, an 8,500-square-foot restaurant featuring hand-cut steaks and seafood grilled over a blend of pecan, oak and hickory woods.

“This $150 million investment marks a significant milestone in the urban development of Fort Worth, adding a new landmark to the city’s skyline,” said Fort Worth Mayor Mattie Parker. “Deco is the first luxury residential tower to be built in downtown Fort Worth in 30 years, marking the start of what will bring even more residential housing in our urban core.”

Tim Downey, founder and CEO of Southern Land Company (SLC), said the development’s “stunning art deco-inspired design, luxurious amenities, and a prime location steps from Sundance Square puts Deco in position to redefine urban living in Fort Worth. We are proud to contribute to the city’s growth and provide a home that residents will cherish for years to come.”

Other speakers at the grand opening ceremony included Ronan Kearney, SLC senior vice president and head of property management; Fort Worth City Council member Elizabeth Beck (District 9); Roy Brooks, Tarrant County Commissioner; Carlos De La Torre, president of the Fort Worth Downtown Neighborhood Alliance; and Andy Taft, president of Downtown Fort Worth, Inc.

“Deco ushers in a new era of downtown Fort Worth living,” Taft said. “As downtown’s premier apartment community, Deco sets the downtown lifestyle bar higher than ever. Southern Land’s design, finishes, amenities, proximity to jobs, dining, entertainment and commuter rail takes the ease and convenience of downtown’s lock-and-leave high-rise living to new levels.”
