Council Calls Special Election To Fill District 9 Seat

The City Council has set a special election on May 10 to fill an unexpired term left vacant by the recent resignation of Joel Burns in District 9.

Candidates may file for office by 5 p.m. March 10 in the City Secretary’s Office at City Hall, 1000 Throckmorton St.

The last day to register to vote in the May election is April 10. Early voting by personal appearance begins April 28 and runs through May 6.

If needed, a runoff election would be June 21.
