Burns & McDonnell Meets Growth Needs With Fort Worth Office Expansion

Burns & McDonnell has expanded its office space in Fort Worth, making more room for a growing team that will add 50 new jobs in Fort Worth and 50 in Dallas by 2021.
Burns & McDonnell is housed in the Pier 1 Imports Building in downtown Fort Worth, currently on the 19th floor. With the move, the firm will move to a larger space on the seventh floor, increasing its lease from 22,414 square feet to 26,507 square feet.
“We have proudly been in the Fort Worth and Dallas communities for more than a decade and we look forward to continuing our contributions to the growing economy,” Scott Clark, vice president and general manager for Burns & McDonnell in Fort Worth and Dallas, said in a statement. “From engineering manufacturing and power delivery solutions to designing major data centers for technology giants, we’re laser-focused on creating an exceptional employee ownership culture that allows us to deliver world-class service and projects to our clients.”
The company provides services for a variety industries including technology consulting, aviation, power, telecommunications, and environmental.
The move will create additional space to accommodate Burns & McDonnell’s nearly 150 employees. The team plans to continue hiring engineers, architects, and construction professionals to support energy, power, aviation, federal and municipal clients.
Burns & McDonnell has seen significant growth
Founded by two entrepreneurs in 1898, Burns & McDonnell—also ranked No. 1 in Power by Engineering News-Record—is a 100-percent employee-owned engineering, architecture, and construction firm.
In April, Burns & McDonnell was ranked No. 17 on Fortune’s list of the best workplaces in America among companies specializing in consulting and professional services.
In September, the company was again named as a winner of the Premier Award for Client Satisfaction by PSMJ Resources, recognizing engineering and architecture firms that have performed well in client communications, project deliver, and cost-effective solutions.
And, in August, Burns & McDonnell retained its No. 3 ranking on Consulting-Specifying Engineer magazine’s 2019 MEP Giants listing of the nation’s top 100 firms providing mechanical, electrical, plumbing and fire protection engineering services.
The Kansas City-headquartered company established a presence in Fort Worth back in 2003, and has steadily grown its revenue each year since—even doubling since 2013.
This year, Burns & McDonnell grew by 20 percent in North Texas and announced plans to expand its Houston office, adding an additional 300 new jobs there by 2021.
The growth in Texas is part of Burns & McDonnell’s overall growth nationwide that is averaging more than 1,000 professionals a year. Burns & McDonnell has 7,000 employees with more than 50 offices around the world, including another Texas office in Austin.
