WHEN: Wednesday, October 23rd, 3 a.m. to 7 a.m. (weather permitting)
WHERE: West 7th Street bridge EB and WB right lanes (MAP)
WHAT: The right lanes of both eastbound and westbound West 7th Street bridge will be closed overnight for crews to place concrete for new sidewalks. Crews are scheduled to start at 3 a.m. on Wednesday, October 23rd and will reopen the lanes by 7 a.m. (weather permitting). One lane will still be open in each direction during this closure and access to local businesses will be maintained.
The new $26 million West 7th Street signature arch bridge replaces a 100-year-old bridge that was beyond rehabilitation with limited pedestrian access over the Clear Fork Trinity River and Trinity Park. The series of sculpted network arches with their unique, modern architecture and their ability to be viewed by motorists and pedestrians both above and below the bridge will announce the entrance to the city’s vibrant downtown and cultural district. The design, while complex, still allowed for Sundt Construction, Inc. to pursue an aggressive schedule. Additional project information is available at: www.fortworthgov.org/seventhstreetbridge/ .
