7th Street Bridge Closure

WHERE: West 7th Street from Stayton to Penn (MAP)
WHEN: Wednesday, May 8th, 8 p.m. to Tuesday, May 14th, 6 a.m.
WHAT: After the 2013 version of Mayfest closes, motorists will begin to notice intermittent closures related to the reconstruction of the West 7th Street bridge. Specifically:
- Closure of 7th Street from Stayton to Penn starting at 8 p.m. May 8 lasting through 6 a.m. May 14 (weather permitting) for placement of the first two pre-cast bridge arches on the east side of the bridge.
- Intermittent overnight closures of 7th Street from mid-May to mid-June, to place the remaining 10 arches (7th Street will be reduced to one lane in each direction during this time period).
- Full bridge closure in mid-June with the new bridge open in 150 days or less, prior to Thanksgiving 2013.
Lancaster Avenue will be the designated detour route during the closures of 7th Street. In addition to 7th Street, other affected roadways will be Forest Park Boulevard, Stayton Street, 10th Street, and Fournier Street. Access to local businesses will be maintained throughout the closure.
