The Eighth Cliburn International Amateur Piano Competition will take place October 12–18, 2022, in Fort Worth, Texas, at Bass Performance Hall and PepsiCo Recital Hall at TCU – Texas Christian University.
This edition had previously been scheduled for May 2020.
Competitors selected to compete in 2020—who represent 18 countries and range in age from 35 to 69—will be offered their places to participate in the 2022 Amateur Competition. Should any competitors decline, preselected alternates from the 2020 applicant pool will be invited as competitors. In the event that there are still positions open, applications will be reopened in July 2021. A confirmed competitor list will be announced in July 2022.
