August 20,2015

LYLE LOVETT & JOHN HIATT ACOUSTIC SHOW COMING TO BASS HALL NOVEMBER 2
Tickets on sale Sunday

Lyle And John Hiatt

FORT WORTH, Texas, August 20, 2015 – Performing Arts Fort Worth presents An Acoustic Evening with Lyle Lovett and John Hiatt at Bass Performance Hall on Monday, November 2, 2015, at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $66-$132 and will go on sale at 5:30 p.m. Sunday, August 23.
An Acoustic Evening with Lyle Lovett and John Hiatt will feature the two singer-songwriters, longtime friends and collaborators, performing acoustic renditions of their songs, and sharing stories tied to those songs. This will be the first time the two have performed together at Bass Hall.

A singer, composer and actor, Lyle Lovett has broadened the definition of American music in a career that spans 14 albums. Coupled with his gift for storytelling, the Texas-based musician fuses elements of Americana, swing, jazz, folk, gospel and blues in a convention-defying manner that breaks down barriers.

Lovett’s live performances show not only the breadth of this Texas legend’s deep talents, but also the diversity of his influences, making him one of the most infectious and fascinating musicians in popular music. Since his self-titled debut in 1986, Lyle Lovett has evolved into one of music’s most vibrant performers. His oeuvre, rich and eclectic, is one of the most beloved of any living artist working today.
Lyle Lovett & His Large Band will perform Sunday, August 23, at Bass Hall; the show is sold out.

John Hiatt’s songs have been recorded by artists as diverse as Bob Dylan, Bonnie Raitt, Emmylou Harris, Iggy Pop, Rosanne Cash and the Jeff Healey Band. The Indiana-born singer-songwriter has received several Grammy nominations, while B.B. King and Eric Clapton shared a Grammy for their album Riding With The King, the title track from which was a Hiatt composition. Hiatt has received his own star on Nashville’s Walk of Fame, the Americana Music Association’s Lifetime Achievement Award for Songwriting, has been inducted into the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame and was saluted at the Indiana Governor’s Arts Awards.
Hiatt’s on tour to promote his latest album, last year’s Terms of My Surrender.

An Acoustic Evening with Lyle Lovett and John Hiatt will be a spur-of-the-moment concert, Lovett says. "The show that John and I do is not scripted in any way, and we do not discuss at all what we're going to play," Lovett told Pop Matters. "John always plays first - we go in alphabetical order - and what I play is determined or suggested by what he plays first. And we just go from there. It's very relaxed, a free exchange."
