Burnett Park Updated Information

Burnett Park: Your New Backyard

We are a few weeks away from completing construction in the park.  We anticipate an official ribbon-cutting event in early May.

Lower Plantings/Higher Tree Canopy:  The shrubs have been removed from the planter boxes around the perimeter of the park and new perennial plants (Purple Leaf Wintercreeper and St. John’s Wort)and will provide better site lines into the park.

 

Raised Lawn Area:  New lawn will provide a seemless transition from the granite sidewalks in the center of the park.

Children’s Play Area:  The new climbing net was installed and the boulders were craned in and set in the adjacent play area.  The largest boulder weighs approximately 9500 lbs.

 

Lighting:  Lighting has been improved in the park.

New seating:  Burnett Park will have new seating options.  We hope that people will now be able to lunch comfortably in the park.
