Work started today at Burnett Park with the removal of magnolia trees where the children's play area will be constructed. The trees will be replaced with a ring of large boulders and a rope web climbing structure. New trees will be planted in the play areas, although fewer in number. As work progresses, a few live oaks will be removed from the fountain area, creating uninterrupted sight lines within the new great lawn. The fountain will also be removed, making way for turf that will be at the same level as the paths. For more information, contact melissa@dfwi.org.
